Sunset Concert

The last Saturday of every month is the day of sunset concerts which are organized by KAUST arts department.
They take place between 17:30 - 18:00.
Repertoire includes 5 or 6 pieces of classical music, Blues, South American native music, etc.
Our musicians are very talented and passionate. They rehearse and perform after work, with a big smile on their faces.
University library sea view hall is the house of this event with its beautiful view and exquisite architecture.
Sometimes they serve oriental refreshments such as Arabic coffee and dates. Although, there was none last Saturday.
You can see on the photos the beautiful ambience and how people enjoy the tunes with their babies.
If you live on campus, you shouldn't miss this event.

Flavors International Food Festival

Flavors International Food Festival was a blast.
Everything was so colorful and nice.
Although it was very expensive (a slice of old sushi is 10 SAR, a small carpet is more than 3000 SAR, etc), everybody enjoyed it.
They also gave out free flight tickets, dinner vouchers, one night hotel accommodations, and more.
It was an enjoyable evening.

Dangerous driving habits in KAUST

Saudi Oger employee bus (like the one inthe picture) drivers are driving in a very dangerous way.
* They don't stop at STOP signs,
* They make turns very wide to cover both lanes and they don't pay attention if they're about to hit someone,
* They don't hesitate to drive onto other cars, especially scooters and bikes,
* They make sudden stops and pick-up&drop-off passengers other than designated places.

Somebody should do something quick, before they actually cause a serious accident.

Sand storm season and high temperature

Recently, it was terrible "sand storm" season for Jeddah-Thuwal region. We are so glad that it is over now. But, this means temperature will start climbing up very fast from now on. We must be very careful, stay hydrated, prefer shaded regions or indoors during the day, don't let our pets outdoors (if you let them out ever) while sun is up.
Summer is on the way, enjoy the spring time in KAUST. :)
